SPEARS CARS TOUR WEST GEARS UP FOR HISTORIC SEASON:
There was no shortage of news coming from the SPEARS CARS Tour West this winter. Along with a multi-year partnership agreement that extends Spears as the series’ entitlement partner for 2026 and beyond, series owners Kevin Harvick and Tim Huddleston spent the offseason restructuring and expanding the tour’s divisions. The Super Late Models, along with the newly formed Northwest and Southwest Pro Late Models, join the Limited Pro Late Model and Legend Car divisions to give the series a total of 54 races among the four classes at 11 tracks in six states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Washington).
SOUNDGEAR 125:
The worldwide leader in hearing protection, SoundGear is the official hearing protection of the Spears CARS Tour West. An established supporter of motorsports, SoundGear’s entitlement sponsorship of the opening round of the Southwest PLM division marks the organization’s initial expansion into the Spears CARS Tour West.
SOUTHWEST DIVISION SEASON OUTLOOK:
The highly competitive Southwest PLM division is gearing up to have 26 drivers competing for the series championship in 2026. Competitors hail from across the West Coast, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian Provinces of British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
HALE SET TO DEFEND 2025 TITLE:
Manteca, Calif., native Jace Hale will begin the season looking to defend his 2025 Spears CARS Tour West Pro Late Model championship. The 15-year-old captured the title with four victories during a breakout season a year ago and looks to repeat in his 2026 campaign.
LOCAL TALENT:
The SoundGear 125 will feature a strong contingent of drivers from across Arizona. Tucson natives Ethan Ebert and Skyler Bohard will represent their hometown in the No. 9 and 99 entries, respectively, while JD White of nearby Marana, Ariz., is set to drive the No. 38. Mia Lovell, hailing from Scottsdale, Ariz., will pilot the No. 24 and Andy Sole of San Tan Valley, Ariz., rounds out the group of Grand Canyon State competitors in the No. 20.
DOUBLE DIPPING:
The lure of Tucson, along with a competitive field of 40 entries, has attracted several East Coast drivers West for the Southwest opener. William Sawalich, who competes fulltime in NASCAR’s second-tier series for Joe Gibbs Racing, Kevin Harvick and son Keelan Harvick are among the notable names entered in the SoundGear 125. The Harvicks combined to win three CTW races last season.
